Taking A Leap

In honor of 2016 as a leap year and February as the month when all the calendar leaping occurs, I want to share a time when I took the biggest physical step of my life.

It involves my good friend and long-time climbing partner, Chris, a bluebird day in April, and a 200-some-odd-foot cliff. There have been many other (figurative) leaps throughout my life, of course, but none that were anything like this: a heady cocktail of adrenaline and hormones that then transformed my ribs into a cage for at least thirty hummingbirds.

Over the next 29 days, I’ve promised myself that I’ll continue to leap. I will write (and publish) every day in February and step off a different kind of cliff edge…
